Fillings

When your tooth has a small to medium size cavity, we can repair it with a filling. This process involves numbing the tooth, removing the decayed part of the tooth and replacing that part of the tooth with a dental filling material. We have three kinds of dental filling materials. The most common is called composite, which is a tooth colored filling made from resin. Amalgam is the second kind of filling material, which is made from a mixture of metals. The third material is gold, which is rarely used because anything other than a tiny filling can potentially damage your tooth.
